Aki started Quran classes

Today Aki went to the Quran class for the first time. I actually wanted to wait for next year. They asked me to bring him for a trial as he is not yet 2.5 years. As there was not enough teachers they didn't want to take a child who cry. I was very nervous that he might cry but insha allah he didn't. He was super cool. I made him sit on a chair and he started chatting to the boy seated next to him comfortably and sang too. I slowly walked out. 
When we went to fetch him he was happily sitting on the teachers table and pointed to us and smiled. The teacher said he didn't cry even once but every now and then asked where is mamma. They wanted to take him this year and asked to bring him everyday. Our brave little boy, mamma and bappa are so proud of you. Love you more than anything sunshine.

Made peace with vomiting

It first started when he was like 10months. I thought it was the teeth erupting it will pass by but the truth is, it never did. It takes hours to feed him and just in a second he will throw all of it out. It is heartbreaking. Sometimes I feel so helpless that I just sit and cry. People advice that when he throw out I shouldn't feed soon. so I took that advice and didn't feed. What started happening was he got skinny. I showed a lot of doctors but they don't know the real reason. Some says it's the result of  forcing him to eat when I first started him on  solids. which made me furious. I didn't force him. If we feed them when they don't want food and if it is forcing then every mother force. Aki is a child who is difficult and was difficult when I started. He won't even take the first spoon willingly. so what? I stop from there? Only few are lucky to get children who likes eating and I m happy for them. Other doctors  says it happens there is no exact reason with age he will stop and I really hope it does.


Before starting on solids Aki was a very healthy boy. Chubby cheeks and all. People even started commenting on his weight when he got skinny. I just  ignored but from inside I hated it. If I get a comment like that the whole day I think about what to do. Ahmed always tried to make me feel better and said not to think about what others says. but I couldn't help. Only I know how hard it is to feed him and again feed him when he vomits.

My mom always says feed him even after he vomits. but I didn't and later I realized that it would be better for him if I did. He won't lose so much weight if I did. So I started feeding him even if he vomits cause masha allah he don't vomit that second time. He still vomits but is not skinny masha allah.

From 10months till today rarely goes a day without vomiting. Aki is also more used to it now. He don't make a big fuss on it. He won't cry but it's hard for him I know. Now I have even started accepting that he will vomit and I will feed a second time. It's like having two children. You feed the first and then the second. I m not going to show him to a doctor anymore for this. I have my own way of doing it now. I believe someday it would stop. Aki is a very easy boy to manage maybe that's  why even I got something to worry.

Baby boy I know it's more hard for you than for me but we will work together.  One day that's going to be our past. 

Updates

       I changed my clothing style on Haj day. Now I wear abaya and its more comfortable. I don't wear fullblack.I wear it with colored shawls and love it :).

   I spent Eid with my family for the first time after I married and it was splendid. I always enjoy being with them.Little Aki did too. We all cooked and after the lunch we went for a walk on the evening and a bus ride after the walk. By the time we came home we were worn out. This is also the first time we went out without ahmed as he caught fever and cold.

We celebrated my 28th b day this Monday. Ahmed took leave and stayed at home with us. Morning started with a cute happy birthday song from our little guy. Ahmed placed him near the toilet and as soon as I got out he started  singing. Little man you rock my world.

That night we had a candle light dinner. It was the perfect ending for that day. Thank you Ahmed. You are the best :)

Cinnamon Cake

I don't know why this cake is called a cinnamon cake  but me and my husband surely loves it.  It's very simple and easy to make. I got the recipe from Ahmed's Thuthatha. Believe me she has this cook book which is worth stealing. But don't worry fathdhatha i m not going to steal it  as long as you let me borrow it :).

I actually made everything double as it was too thin. The recipe below is not double its only single. Hope you enjoy this.

Cinnamon Cake made for my husband

Ingredients

60g Butter

1/2 Cup Caster Sugar

01 Egg

3/4 Self Raising Flour/90 grams

3tbs Plain Flour 

1/2 Cup Full Cream Milk 

1tsp Vanilla Essence 

For topping 

20g Unsalted Butter

1 tbs Caster Sugar

1 tsp Cinnamon powder

How to make:

Mix butter and sugar until creamy. Then add egg,vanilla essence and mix for a few minutes. When it is mixed add self raising flour and normal flour with milk alternatively.

Then add the mixer into a greased pan and bake.

When the cake is baked, melt the 20g unsalted butter and pour up on the cake. Sprinkle 1 tsp of caster sugar and cinnamon powder on top of it.

Little Aki loves household chores

My son loves to do household chores. Since a little baby he has always showed interest in them. He finds it more fascinating than a toy. No matter how many toys we buy him he would still prefer the machine, cooking stove, pans, pots, iron, mop, broom and anything related to these. I have already bought him a toy cooking set. Yeah I know but what to do?? that's the only thing he wanted from the big toy shop.

His grandma has given him a nice wooden spatula and I gave him a little frying pan. That is the only thing he plays with other than his soft toys. Hahaa that also "soft toys". Maybe he have spent too much time with me plus there are more girls here to play with him. Anyhow I will get help in the household chores so I stop worrying about that.

Last weekend of September

The last weekend of September was full of fun.We planned to go to many places and we did. We had a blast.Little guy enjoyed every minute of it.

It started with Aki's 2nd b'day photo shoot on Thursday evening but the guy we made appointment with cancelled on us the last minute so we had to take from some other guy and the family pic sucks :(. Anyway i m glad i got some pics. Here are some of them i liked.

After coming from photo shoot we headed off with Ahmed's family to Marry Brown, a new fast food restaurant opened in town . I loved the kids playground. so did Aki.

The next day we went to see Aki's Cousins concert. My whole family went except thutthons as they were living in Villingili. Aki was dancing and clapping ever since the concert started. but we couldn't take any pictures that time as we were videoing the children dance.

We have been planning to take a trip to villingili for a long time but somehow we always cancel  and that day we went.we had so much fun and we are  planning to go again. Aki loves to play in the beach. He is not even afraid of the sea. When we went to deep sea with him he asked Ahmed to leave him.Such a brave guy he is.Love you a lot sunshine.
